FGA-1000 Flare Gas Analyzer For Total Sulfur

ATOM Instrument offers the most versatile Total Sulfur analyzers available. The ATOM FGA-1000 is an online process analyzer utilizing patented Excimer UV Fluorescence (EUVF) technology to measure Total Sulfur in a variety of applications such as monitoring refinery flare gas and subsequent sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions as mandated by the EPA Rule 40 CFR 60, Subpart Ja.

The FGA-1000 has the highest dynamic measurement range of any commercially available analyzer, requiring only a single point calibration without the need for additional sample valves, calibration gases or system hardware. It provides complete TRS Data resulting in the total analysis of all sulfur compounds potentially present in flare gas streams, not just the analysis of a few selected sulfur compounds as with GC-type applications.

Certification or CGA (Cylinder Gas Audit) is seamlessly provided by the incorporated calibration switching configuration and corresponding software menus for easy compliance testing. In addition, the ATOM FGA-1000 does not require installation in an enclosed shelter.

Excimer UV Fluorescence

The Model FGA-1000 is based on field-proven EUVF technology that is exceptionally stable and utilizes an excitation wavelength that achieves high detection sensitivity. The FGA-1000 is an excellent fit for flare or stack gas applications. The analyzer has excellent linearity up to 100% with a single point calibration. The FGA-1000 is designed for outdoor installation and use in harsh environments as may be required by the refining, gas processing, and other Oil & Gas industries.

Graphical User Interface

The FGA software incorporates a user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) designed to be both intuitive and easy to use. All aspects of analyzer operation are accessible from the Main toolbar utilizing drop-down menu screens. The home screen displays 3 user selectable digital readout and analog bar graphs updated in real-time from the analysis. Run Cycle Status and current timed events are also refreshed in real-time. Major system control elements are also incorporated in this home screen. The calibrate menu allows complete control of the calibration and validation processes, including manual or auto calibration and validation sequencing. Analytical results acquired during calibration events may be inspected at any time prior to any subsequent calibration.

All other menu screens such as Timed Events, Detector, Analog Output, Digital I/O and System Alarm Settings, allow the user to easily monitor or make changes to all aspects of analyzer control and operation. The GUI software also includes user setup and password security, as well as plotting of real-time analysis data and historical settings.

Analyzer Response

The ATOM FGA-1000 is specifically designed for high-speed analysis and fast response time. This feature enables more rapid, real-time measurements to be performed allowing flare events and emissions to be more accurately monitored and quantified. Emission variations and detail, not apparent with slower responding analyzers, may either be revealed or become more apparent. Although a 100-seconds cycle time is standard, the ATOM FGA timetable can be easily reconfigured for a cycle time as fast as 60-seconds, should the need for higher speed be necessary or desired.
